Kopli Tour {Abandoned Factory and Soviet stories}

5km north of Old Town lies the sleepy post-industrial district of Kopli. After many years in the shadows, this forgotten neighbourhood is back on the radar.

In the 1990’s, Kopli was a ‘no-go area’ for many locals and would frequently appear in the news for all the wrong reasons. Today, those problems have disappeared and Kopli is on the verge of dramatic change. Old wooden houses, abandoned buildings, Soviet-era shops and disused rail lines still dominate the landscape but there is something else stirring in this peninsula: Kopli is waking up.

I have always been fascinated with Kopli. This districted is mysterious and its secrets are hard to find, so after several years of research I’m delighted to be able to introduce you to the story of Kopli. Join me on Hidden Tallinn’s most adventurous tour.
