Verified Fascinating and Eye-Opening Tour of Tallinn’s Soviet Past
If you’re even remotely interested in history, this tour is a must-do in Tallinn. The Soviet Walking Tour of Tallinn – Explore the City’s Hidden History was one of the highlights of my visit. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, combining personal stories, local anecdotes, and historical context to bring the Soviet era to life in a way that was both engaging and thought-provoking.We visited lesser-known parts of the city that you’d likely never stumble upon on your own—abandoned buildings, monuments, and stark Soviet architecture that still echoes the city’s complex past. What I appreciated most was the balance: the guide didn’t glorify or demonize, but instead offered nuanced insights into what life was really like during occupation, from daily struggles to subtle acts of resistance. The pacing was comfortable, and there were plenty of opportunities to ask questions. I walked away with a much deeper appreciation for Estonia’s resilience and the hidden layers behind Tallinn’s beautiful façades.Highly recommended for anyone wanting to go beyond the Old Town and understand the forces that shaped modern Estonia.
